Long Overdue!
A long time ago I got an award. I was supposed to tag up to 15 other blogs to pass it on to. At the time I hadn't gotten to know a lot of other blogs so I never did. Now, however, I would like to pass this Lovely Blog Award to the following Lovely Ladies:
Motherhood Moments: Lyndsey inspires me to EC, cloth diaper, and most of all--TRAVEL with my youngster!!
Living in the Land of Chocolate: Fiona always posts the best pictures of her adorable little girls, makes me jealous of living in a German speaking country, and inspires me to let Ingrid get messy and have fun.
Carried Family: Sarah has three gorgeous girls, something I'm not sure I could deal with :) Yet she manages it all with posts that bring a smile to my face. I love how honest she is in dealing with the ups and downs of daily mama life!
Our Unschooled Family: I found this blog awhile ago and it introduced me to so many things I'd never thought of, and also introduced me to so many blogs I never would've found. Gina inspires me to follow my daughter's lead, live a simple life, go on walks every day, and bake bread! Seriously, I was always scared to bake bread outside of a bread machine, but she is always making bread and it turned out to be rather fun kneading and flouring and letting it rise.
Thrifty Craft Mama: MaryAnne is always good with the crafty things. I am inspired to make clothes, teach my kid with m&ms and paint chips, and have fun every day without spending a ton of money.
Thank you, ladies, for making my days brighter when you have new posts and new pictures and give me things to think about!!

Book Sharing Monday
This week we are sharing Petunia, Beware! by Roger Duvoisin. It's about a goose on a farm that never likes the food she has. She tries to share with all the other farm animals, then decides the grass is literally greener on the other side of the fence. She decides to check it out, with lots of warning from the other animals. There's a raccoon, bobcat, weasel and fox that are out there trying to eat her. She wanders toward her goal of the grass at the top of the hill, only to find the grass isn't any better there!! And while she's out, she comes across the animals she was warned about, has to get away from them, and ends up back at the farm, where she finds the grass there is the BEST EVER!
I have always struggled with the issue of things looking better on the other side of the fence, so this book is great for me. I think it's a good thing to teach kids--appreciate what you have!

Buy Buy Baby
We went on a little shopping excursion today. Our friends Kristin and Allie came over, we put Ingrid's car seat in their car, and off we went to get some childproofing essentials. Ingrid likes to open the toilet seat, which in itself isn't that big of a deal to me. However, when tiny hands start splashing around in water, it's a whole other story...Now instead of just splashing, she has taken to licking her hands afterward. I am not a germophobe, but that is just going too far for me!!!
So today we got a toilet lock that hopefully won't keep Brendan and I locked out, some bumper pads for the corner of the table that Ingrid almost bashed her forehead on last night (which she's already taken off and chewed up), and an inflatable faucet cover for the bathtub, which we probably didn't need but it was cute and had frogs on it so why not be safe?
And then we hit the toy section. There are SO MANY awesome toys I want to get Ingrid!
These are just a few :)
We didn't get any of those, but we did get a picnic set with fake food, a picnic basket and a little grill and tongs. Ingrid likes to chew on the fake chicken legs. I also got her some BabyLegs with skulls on them. They are so cute. I need a new adjective...

If You So Desire...
I have another blog I started--Mama Liddle. I didn't know how many people would care to hear my thoughts when they just came to see how cute and big Ingrid is getting, so Mama Liddle is where I will post things that aren't Ingrid related. Well, most of my life is Ingrid related, so that's not really true, but there will be cute pictures on here and ramblings of a stay at home mom on the other one. Feel free to visit.
So far this week
So far this week we have been up to the following things:
Saying hi to and marching after the cats.
Making a quiche for dinner with a whole wheat/flax meal crust.
Meeting new friends at Urban Toddler. Mama got to reconnect with an old high school friend and Ingrid got to chase around two older kids.
Making blueberry pancakes for breakfast.
And taking out every toy/piece of clothing possible. Big messes are the best!

Book Sharing Monday
This week we have a book we got at the thrift store. It's called Country Mouse in the Town House, by Henrietta. It's the classic country mouse/city mouse story but with these amazing pictures. I especially love this picture:
It just makes me want to eat it all up. For older kids, it's fun to look for the mice hidden in each picture, too. And the pictures, they're just so awesome!
Ingrid took to the book right away, but unfortunately that means she's ripped half the pages out. So...it's a mama and me book for now until she gains some control. Wild child!

It's Done!
I finished the felt book! I'm not giving it to Ingrid until we leave for Wisconsin in a couple weeks. We have a six hour car ride and I need to keep her occupied.
And here is the little lady today wearing what was probably supposed to be a dress for a smaller girl but fit her as a shirt. Who knew I would love dressing my daughter in such frilly clothes?? We got some books and videos from Brendan's aunt and uncle and Ingrid's been all about playing with the tapes. We don't have a vcr so I guess that's all the playing these tapes will get...

Boring Day
Yesterday was a really boring day. I have been SO lethargic with my new medicine that it's hard for me to get motivated to do anything. And as we have been driving all over the area the past few days, I didn't really want to go anywhere. SO...
What to do on a boring day?
Take pictures of your daughters cute shoes.
Let her play in her room by herself and then remember that a quiet toddler is usually a naughty toddler.
Make pudding and let her feed it to herself.
And we made a chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting. I certainly don't need to eat it, but I love baking. I need to find a love for making healthy food...

Thrift Scores
Another trip to the thrift store yesterday, and this time we came home with quite a few goodies. First of all--Racko! I used to love that game when I was a kid and recently I looked on ebay to see if I could find it. All I could find were "vintage" editions (since when is the 80s vintage???) for $9. But here I found a really truly vintage edition for $3. Sweet! (Don't know why the picture is turned though, can't figure out how to flip it??)
I also found some cute patterns for little dresses for Ingrid. Can't wait to see how I do with a pattern, I usually free hand things :)
And lastly, some very un-PC cards. I seriously cannot believe they made these at one time! But for people with an ironic sense of humor, they're amazing.
