Saturday we got up bright and early to take Cody and Ingrid to a nearby park. It has tons of trails, one of which goes along the river. We saw a swan. It was sunny and some of the trees even had buds on them!! Spring is here, I think!
Friday we met some friends at a play place. There is a nice padded toddler area with things to climb and slides to go down. Ingrid was fearless--she was trying so hard to keep up with the big kids. I helped her climb up and let her go down the slide by herself, and she LOVED it! Once she is walking I am positive it will take her ten seconds to figure out how to run. Away from me.
Ingrid has this weird obsession with laundry, whether clean or dirty. She loves to tip over the basket and sit amidst the clothes. She'll grab something, feel it, wave it around. She has been known to sit for 20-30 minutes at a time completely engrossed with dirty clothes. We just love our funny baby!
More fun things for Ingrid to wear when she gets bigger. The one dress even still had the original tag on it! I so wish you could just walk into any store and find dresses like these for sale!
Ingrid and I have had bad colds the past few days. We haven't left the house in some time. Which means Ingrid gets into trouble while I try to rest on the couch. She got into the pantry and can amazingly get to the upper shelves, and the spices. Gotta move those :) She stole Cody's tennis ball...He doesn't like that so much. And she tried on her sun hat. Not that we need it now, as it has snowed for two days.
Today we went to My Urban Toddler, a pretty cool place that has classes, playtime, food, and a store. The play place is really neat with different areas like a library, a dress up area, a house, a market with fake food. Plus they have a fully padded infant area that Ingrid got to roll around in. We had a lot of fun! Ingrid didn't like it but I thought the cowgirl headband was so funny! Here she is playing with Ben. And here she is with some fake food. They had the coolest fake food, I'll have to get some for her when she gets a play kitchen.
I hate vertical blinds. I can't believe how long it took me to get rid of them in Ingrid's room! But now she has cute new pink and green curtains that I made for her. They make the room kind of glow a nice pink color when the sun shines. We got Ingrid some new jeans the other day. They are quite the fashion jeans. She also has a pair of shoes given to us by a family I used to nanny for. I love them, they are so adorable! However, when looking for a similar pair I found they are quite expensive. Best to just let people give us their leftovers :)
Ingrid is ten months old now. She's doing lots of new fun stuff. Like hugging, and doing the appropriate things when you sing If You're Happy and You Know It. She loves to stomp her feet! And she can stand up in the crib, which is great when she's tired and can't figure out how to sit back down. Makes for a really fun time getting her down for a nap... Brendan set up the tent in the living room the other day and she loved to play in there. Camping this summer should be fun. She loves to sit and look at her baby books, and now can point to things she finds interesting. And like any other kid, Ingrid likes to eat broccoli. HUH? I didn't like the stuff until I was in my 20s, but she's loved it since day 1. Weird.
We went on a walk to a nearby park today. Ingrid is still unsure of the swings. She sure did like the pear I gave her for the walk home, though. What a mess!
