Our Wedding Weekend

I was in a wedding this weekend so Brendan and I took Ingrid to Holland. We drove straight to the rehearsal, then dropped Ingrid off with Aunt Corie.
We went to dinner, where the wedding party got their presents--monogrammed Snuggies for the guys, so funny! They looked like a cult...
Then we went to New Holland Brewery for drinks. Fun!
Unfortunately, Ingrid had finally fallen asleep at Corie's right before we got there, so instead of leaving her to sleep, we picked her up and stuck her in the car, where she woke up, got mad, and cried until 3am. Brendan drove around with her, we rocked, we sang, nothing was working. Brendan managed to fall asleep with her in the car with Ingrid on his chest. They got a few hours of sleep. No fun.
Luckily the next day was better. I helped get stuff ready at the wedding site, Brendan and Ingrid napped, then Ingrid and I napped, then we got ready and went to the wedding.
It was on Lake Michigan, the weather was perfect, everything looked so beautiful! Christy looked amazing, Keagan wore a little mini-tux, which was adorable, and all the bridesmaids fit into their dresses-one was 5 mo. pregnant, and one had just given birth three weeks ago :) There was a short ceremony, and then lots of great food, drinks, cake and dancing. Ingrid was the belle of the ball, as she was the only other baby besides Keagan there. Everyone kept saying what a great baby she was, which is usually true, but I just laughed and said, yeah, unless she's screaming at 3am...

Kleenex and Splash Pools

Yesterday Ingrid got into a box of Kleenex. I am constantly moving the box to keep it out of her reach but somehow she always finds it...She totally got busted!

Today it was hot and muggy out so we blew up the splash pool our friends gave us and Ingrid had fun splashing. Unfortunately we have this gross black tar papery stuff on our porch, which made Ingrid nice and dirty. They are supposed to put new outdoor carpeting on it, but so far have not. If you look closely you can see how black her little knees are!
My daughter has buns of steel...

Book Sharing Monday

Whew, almost forgot it was Monday.

This week we are sharing Peek a Who? by Nina Laden. Ingrid got it for her birthday and it has instantly become a favorite. She loves to turn the pages and especially likes the end--there's a mirror she can see herself in :)

Meeting Charlie

We went to Jami and Ben's today to meet their new adorable kitten, Charlie.

Ingrid could have cared less about him, though. Ben also had a new sand/water table to play with. That was way more fun than a ball of fur with claws. It was beautiful and sunny and we had fun enjoying the day.

Busy Bee

Ingrid's been busy as usual. Things she's been up to this week:
Wearing her sun hat inside.

Getting into my purse and snatching my wallet.

Eating pb&j sandwiches.

And wearing the cutest lederhosen-esque shorts I thrifted for her last fall.

New Toys

Thanks to some awesome friends, Ingrid now has these two new toys to play with:

A flapping penguin

and a pull along dog.

So cute!

Nightly Naked Time

What is it about a naked baby and all their sweet little rolls?! I have rolls, but no one wants to see me naked :) Ingrid enjoys her nightly naked time immensely. Every night after dinner we strip her down and let her run free until it's bathtime. She loves it!

Oh man, another birthday party...

I am officially sick of birthday cake. Today we had some friends over to celebrate Ingrid and Allie's birthdays. We got rid of both of our leftovers, but for some reason decided to get another cake for today. No more sugar!!

The kids had fun playing with new toys and going outside to enjoy yet another beautiful day!

The Rest of the Birthday Weekend

After the festivities of Saturday, Sunday was a day for hanging out. Ingrid figured out that she could walk behind her push cart.

We had breakfast with our friends Brian and Alaina.
And we went to the Arboretum with Grandma and Grandpa and enjoyed the sunny day.

Our Squirrels

We now have a family of squirrels that come to our porch. There are two babies and a mama, and the babies are always playing on the tree right next to the porch. The other morning my mom and I sat outside drinking coffee and just watching them run up and down the tree, chase each other, and play "who can get closest to the human." My mom touched one of them, it seems he won the game. They played for a long time, until mama found them and chattered really loudly. They scampered off, I think they got in trouble :)
